Dear parents,
Yesterday we had a special guest band from Saskatchewan. This was a group of grade 10 students. The students enjoyed the performance, especially when they played the theme from Star Wars! The students are currently writing scripts for an iMovie they are going to make. They are going to present their animal research they have been doing on the categories such as food, habitat, babies, enemies, and adaptations. They have been using a rubric for non-fiction writing. Ask them some of the requirements on their rubric for making their writing more interesting. We are starting measurement in math. Today we talked about different units of measurements and what they are used for. Earlier this week, we read a book called How Big is a Foot. Ask them what the problem was with making a bed for the queen. We are preparing to work on projects for the heart to heart market coming up on May 31st. Ask your child what supplies they need from home to complete their project.
