Testing Materials & Designs Students will study the materials and designs used in construction tasks. They will compare available materials to see which are the strongest-which ones resist bending, crushing or tearing-and which are most easily shaped and joined. They will test different shapes and thicknesses to find out what makes a structure strong and stable and to find out how much material is needed. Room 4 will learn that many things are considered when materials and designs are selected and that different tasks may require different materials and designs. Today the students in room 4 had a building challenge. They were given one piece of paper, 10 blocks, and tape. After, students created different challenges for themselves. -About Migration: The seasonal movement of animals from one region (place or Habitat) to another. -Our school has a large migration map (in the gym) for students to have some hands on learning on how migration works. -Math, we worked on a crossword puzzle. -We composed our rotting pumpkins in our garden.
